This may come as a shock to some of you, but our most dedicated readers don’t generally like to click on posts about three-row mid-size crossovers. Direct traffic is also even worse when we’re talking about a mid-cycle refresh that gives said crossover an updated look with no other major updates, such as a new, more powerful engine. That said, Google likes to send a lot of normal people our way when we write about non-enthusiast vehicles. S0, here is a post about the refreshed 2024 Kia Sorento.
If you notice, we chose a top shot of the 2024 Kia Sorento driving through a river even though, odds are, no one is ever going to drive a 2024 Kia Sorento through a river. At least not intentionally. It is, however, a dynamic shot that is more likely to get people to click on this link when they see it appear in Google News or their search results. Not that we blame them. If you were looking for a post on the refreshed 2024 Kia Sorento, would you be more interested in an article with that photo or this one:
Exactly. Both photos show the 2024 Kia Sorento’s front-end styling more closely matches what we’ve seen on the 2024 Kia EV9, but one is much more clickable. Of course, I have to link to a post we wrote about the 2024 Kia EV9 because the SEO gods demand it. Whether or not the 2024 Kia Sorento’s updated styling is an improvement or not largely comes down to personal taste. Personally, I think it looks a little grumpy, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If you like daytime running lights, then you’ll be delighted to know the 2024 Kia Sorento has them.
Under the hood, you have a few powertrain options. The 2024 Kia Sorento comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is an option. The base engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 191 hp and 181 lb.-ft. of torque, but higher trim levels offer a turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 281 hp and 311 lb.-ft. of torque. Later in 2024, though, Kia plans to add a hybrid and plug-in hybrid to the lineup as 2025 models. If it was my money, I’d wait for the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid due to the improved fuel efficiency.
Inside, the 2024 Kia Sorento’s cabin has been tastefully updated with a new infotainment system and a 12.3-inch center touchscreen that can be paired with an optional 12.3-inch driver display. There’s also more technology, including the ability for the 2024 Kia Sorento to receive over-the-air updates and USB-C ports for all three rows. Plus, there are plenty of advanced driver assist and safety features. On the highest trims, you can also expect a more luxurious experience with open-pore wood trim and quilted leather seats.
Speaking of the highest trim levels offered on the 2024 Kia Sorento, there’s a new off-road-focused trim called the Sorento X-Pro that gets 17-inch wheels, all-terrain BF Goodrich tires and the ability to tow up to 4,000 pounds. According to Kia, that should allow you to tow a travel trailer on your way to your next camping trip. It also gets an upgraded active on-demand all-wheel drive system with a center locking differential that should make it handle better in corners and also make it more capable off-road.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but we shouldn’t have to wait long since Kia says the 2024 Kia Sorento will go on sale in the first quarter of 2024. This concludes our post about the 2024 Kia Sorento for SEO purposes, so please enjoy some more pictures. Or not. It’s really up to you.
