We know Volkswagen lied and cheated. The U.S. government believes Fiat Chrysler skirted emissions laws. Today, we can add Porsche to the list of carmaker’s accused of using emission-cheat software.
Of course, Porsche denied the allegation, because that’s how these things work. Reuters explains:
Germany’s transportation watchdog is investigating whether Volkswagen’s (VOWG_p.DE) Porsche brand is using illicit software to cheat on emissions tests, weekly magazine Wirtschaftswoche reported on Friday.
The KBA motor vehicle authority is examining whether Porsche is using steering wheel movements to detect whether its cars are on the test bed, the magazine said.
The list just keeps growing. Including subsidiaries, here’s (I think) every carmaker examined for emission cheats.
If I missed one, let me know.
