Mercedes-AMG GT R: This Is It

No, not that GT-R. This GT R (no hyphen) is the 575 horsepower top-rung super performance version of the Mercedes-AMG GT. It’s quite green.

These images came to us via CarScoops, originally posted on The German Car Forum earlier today (perhaps from a UK employee who just doesn’t care anymore?), which also lists the specs at 575 HP, 516 lb-ft of torque, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, and a top speed of 197 mph.

Why Mercedes felt compelled to produce this car I do not know. The existing AMG GT is a fast and powerful car that looks ridiculous. This is just that, but more.

At least it gets a cool retro-1950s mouth.
